Job Description:

Prepare Engineering Drawings, Calculations and Analysis with use of mechanical design software within the stipulated time frame defined by the project scope documents.

Role and Responsibilities

• Prepare Engineering Drawings, Calculations and Analysis with use of mechanical design software within the stipulated time frame defined by the project scope documents.
• Responsible for the specification compliance of designs by reviewing project scope, specifications, and any regulatory requirements that are applicable to the design being developed.
• Agreeing the mechanical design approach with the Senior Design Engineer and highlight all technical risks.
• Responsible for reporting progress of all assigned tasks to the Senior Design Engineer and Project Management team.
• Ensures design files and information are kept up to date and stored in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Create complete, organized and detailed design packages.
• Assist in mechanical part selection taking into consideration obsolescence, availability and cost.
• Responsible for identifying mechanical part numbers in accordance with the material requirements.
• Keeps up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques and design standards.
• Responsible for carrying out design change requests in a timely manner.
• Must follow the Wellube design management system.

Skills and Experience

• • Mechanical Engineering Graduate with a minimum 5 years in the product development and oil & gas environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs
  • Proficiency in using solid modelling design software’s such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCad.
  • Excellent knowledge in ASME design codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, machining and welding is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with specific ability to write at a professional and technical level
