Project Summary

Wellube has successfully completed line plugging on a 36”150# crude oil line through inline tee to provide isolation during shut down to cold cut and replace the existing section of the pipeline.

Client Requirement

The client wanted to replace an existing section of their crude oil pipeline as part of their planned maintenance shutdown. To enable the repair, they reached out to Wellube to support them with equipment and experienced personnel to perform line stopping to isolate the pipeline.

Challenge Faced

As this was an urgent requirement, the equipment had to be prepared and delivered within a short timeframe to the client site. To expedite the process, we designed and engineered modifications to the line stop heads to suit the existing inline tees for insertion and providing isolation. This helped in ensuring the equipment was ready to meet client’s schedule as needed.

Solution Engineered

Wellube team completed the line plugging operation on the 36” 150# crude oil line by modifying the existing plugging head to operate through the inline tee and provide isolation during the client’s planned shutdown. Following the line plugging, the client performed cold cutting and replaced the existing section of the pipelines.
We also provided the customised 26” and 30” line stopping equipment for their project requirements. The client was extremely pleased with the team’s technical knowledge and professionalism.
