Lead Technician – Hot Tapping

To implement standard hot tapping solutions for successful job completion within budgeted time and cost restraints. To provide excellent customer support and problem-solving in hot tapping operations.


  • Provide engineering services and technical support for client / Wellube owned equipment.
  • Follow the job cards provided by Project Engineer / Operations Manager.
  • Compile service report and follow up of service.
  • Fill job-related documentation as required.
  • Undertake site visits for inspection, installation, commissioning, and service support.
  • Undertake complete supervision of the project from preparing to the execution of the project.
  • Coordinate and provide technical support to Project Engineer / Operations managers.
  • Capable of presenting to the client in a professional manner the execution activities involving all stakeholders of the project and due diligence of relevant activities across.
  • Carry out any task requested in the capability of the Service Engineer.
  • Adhere to Wellube’s Integrated Management System and when on-site, the client’s Quality Management System.
  • Comply with Wellube’s QHSE Management System.
  • Clearly explain to the client during technical meetings on the processes involved and full compliance to the safety standards of the operations.
  • Report any unsafe act or unsafe condition; Stop and challenge any work that is considered unsafe.
  • Identify and initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in processes or systems.
  • Promote a positive QHSE culture in the workplace.
  • Troubleshooting during executions.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering – preferably Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation & Communication
  • At least 5 years related experience preferably in heavy industries/oil & gas industries.
  • Possess good communicative skills in English i.e., can write and speak clearly and succinctly, and to demonstrate this in all official communications.
  • Conversant with MS office tools like M.S Word, M.S Excel, M.S Powerpoint. Strong project management skills, with the ability to complete assigned tasks, accurately and in detail, within the given constraints.
  • Possess the ability to service, maintain the equipment on a need basis.
  • Ability to multi-task and travel to locations/countries where UW engage with operations.
  • Driving license
